Find a Designer

Many NYSID alumni work as interior designers in the New York area, across the country, and around the world. One way to find an interior designer is to call the American Society of Interior Designers (800.775.ASID) for the names of up to three interior designers near you. Finding the right match between designer and client begins with asking some questions. As a client, be prepared to ask the interior designer questions such as: May I see your portfolio? Do you have examples of projects at various budget levels? What kind of work do you like to do, and how long have you been doing these types of projects? How involved will I be in the process? How do you structure your fees? Be prepared to answer the designer's questions, such as: How is the residence (or other space) used? How would you describe your style? How involved do you like to be in decisions? What is your budget?
