The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design provides students with the professional-level preparation to become practicing interior designers.
The program combines a comprehensive interior design curriculum with a broad-based education in the liberal arts. The emphasis is on creativity, effective verbal and graphic communication skills, technical proficiency, and sustainability. With its focus on the development of critical thinking, the program is structured to produce graduates who are culturally, socially, and historically aware, and who have the knowledge and skills to create safe and pleasing interior environments. In combination with the required professional experience, the curriculum satisfies the educational requirements for membership in national and local interior design associations and along with work experience, allows graduates to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam for interior design certification.
