LIBRARYThe library, with over 12,000 books, periodicals and indexes, focuses on art, design, the decorative arts, architecture, and professional practice and houses a materials collection of current trade catalogs and manufacturers’ samples. The Internet and other electronic resources are available. NYSID is part of a cooperative arrangement with New York University and The New School University which gives students and faculty reciprocal access to the 2.6 million volumes of NYU’s Bobst Library and the 54,000-volume Gimbel Library at the Parsons School of Design. NYSID is also a member of the Metropolitan New York Library council (METRO), a consortium of over 300 regional libraries. |
