An education at the New York School of Interior Design is one of the most valuable investments you will ever make. Yet for many students and their families, the costs associated with college are a great matter of concern. That is why we have made a concerted effort to make a NYSID education more affordable. The Office of Financial Aid is here to help guide you through the process.
Financial assistance is available to U.S citizens and permanent residents who are matriculated* and in good academic standing. There are financial aid programs for both full-time and part-time study, as well as a number of merit-based scholarships offered through NYSID.
How to Apply
All applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our school code is 013606.
This single application will be reviewed with regard to a student’s eligibility for Federal grants, loans, and work study program. If you are a New York State resident, when you submit the FAFSA you will automatically be prompted to complete the TAP grant application.
All students who apply for financial aid will be notified of their eligibility via regular mail and email. Students may log-on to their NYSID Portal to view updates to their financial aid status.
Deadlines for submitting 2014-2015 FAFSA and/or verification documents:
|Students attending Fall 2014 and Spring 2015
|Students attending Spring 2015
|Continuing students attending Summer 2014
You may apply for financial aid before you receive your admissions decision, but you will NOT receive an award notification until you have been admitted into one of NYSID’s degree programs.
The financial aid office will begin reviewing 2014-2015 financial aid applications after April 15, 2014 for new students and after June 15, 2014 for continuing/returning students.
* Students enrolled in the distance learning BID program are NOT eligible for financial aid at this time. NYSID is currently in the process of obtaining approval to administer financial aid for this program.
