Counseling

Student Well-Being

The New York School of Interior Design offers free counseling and support services to students provided by a New York State licensed psychologist.  Counseling services are confidential and address a variety of personal and psychological concerns.  When indicated, students are offered short-term counseling for a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, health problems, bereavement, relationship and family issues, academic challenges including time management, difficulty adjusting to school, homesickness, and stress management.   For those students who might require assistance that exceeds the scope of on-campus services, the psychologist will assist in making a referral.

To schedule an appointment, it is best to contact the therapist in advance.  To do so, send an email to: pmorganstein@nysid.edu or call 212-452-4180.  Drop-in appointments can sometimes be accommodated.
