Academic Advising & Tutoring
Getting the Help You Need
NYSID has a full staff of advisors who are here to help students with their academic needs and concerns. Whether taking a class nonmatriculated or in a degree program each student is assigend an advisor that they can turn to for help with scheduling, transfer credit, and academic counseling. Located in the Office of Academic Affairs, the advising staff is available by phone, email, and one-on-one apointments.
Sometimes students need academic help beyond the classroom. That's why NYSID offers free tutoring to all matriculated students. These individual sessions are led by upper-level undergraduate and graduate students and are held in both of our locations: the East 70th Street building and the Graduate Center. Tutoring in most academic areas is offered.
