Financial Aid

An education at the New York School of Interior Design is one of the most valuable investments you will ever make. Yet for many students and their families, the costs associated with college are a great matter of concern. That is why we have made a concerted effort to make a NYSID education more affordable. The Office of Financial Aid is here to help guide you through the process.

Financial assistance is available to U.S citizens and permanent residents who are matriculated and in good academic standing. There are financial aid programs for both full-time and part-time study, as well as a number of merit-based scholarships offered through NYSID.

How to Apply

All applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our school code is 013606.

This single application will be reviewed with regard to a student’s eligibility for Federal grants, loans, and work study program. If you are a New York State resident, when you submit the FAFSA you will automatically be prompted to complete the TAP grant application.

All students who apply for financial aid will be notified of their eligibility via regular mail and email. Students may log-on to their NYSID Portal to view updates to their financial aid status.

Deadlines for submitting 2017-2018 FAFSA and/or verification documents:

Students attending Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 August 1st
Students attending Spring 2018 November 30th
Continuing students attending Summer 2017 May 15th

Deadlines for submitting 2018-2019 FAFSA and/or verification documents:

You may apply for financial aid before you receive your admissions decision, but you will NOT receive an award notification until you have been admitted into one of NYSID’s degree programs.

The financial aid office will begin reviewing 2018-2019 financial aid applications after March 1, 2018 for new students and after June 15, 2018 for continuing/returning students.
