Space Rental Information

The New York School of Interior Design has two locations – our main campus on East 70th Street in Manhattan’s Upper East Side and The Graduate Center is in the Gramercy/Flatiron district. Learn more about NYSID's facilities.

Classrooms, our auditorium, and gallery spaces are available to rent for select events. Requests for space rentals are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis (Note that reservation requests for future semesters may not be honored until NYSID’s public programming and class schedules are complete). NYSID will do its best to honor your request for a specific location and reserve the most appropriate space for your event.

For specific information on any of the rooms listed below or to inquire about hosting an event at any of NYSID’s locations, please complete the form on this page, or call 212-472-1500, ext. 405.

We will make every effort to host your event, however there are certain types of events we cannot accommodate:

  • Events for minors under 18 years of age, including children's birthday parties or coming-of-age celebrations
  • Sport or fitness classes
  • Political fundraisers
  • Religious services
  • Weddings

Once we've received your request, a NYSID representative will contact you to discuss the details of your event. Site visits are available by appointment only during regular business hours, Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm. Upon review of your event needs, a NYSID representative will provide a proposal tailored to your request, including all rental fees based on 4 hour increments. NYSID reserves the right to include additional fees if your event falls outside of typical parameters; for example, if you need to set-up on another day or need to begin/end outside of NYSID's regular business hours.

Prior to any rental, the renter is required to provide a Certificate of Liability Insurance with the New York School of Interior Design listed as additionally insured covered for the date of the event. This must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event date. No rental shall be considered confirmed until such time as both parties have signed a rental agreement, and a Certificate of Liability Insurance is on file with the New York School of Interior Design.

Renter will be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordinating the event in conjunction with NYSID’s External Relations Department.
  • All elements of the renter’s event including: registration, ticket selling, checking-in attendees, supervising guest lists, coordinating catering, gathering presentation materials, and printing promo/event materials.
  • Ensuring the event is in compliance with NYSID’s policies and procedures, including adherence to capacity guidelines.
