Located at 1760 Third Avenue at 97th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, this is a welcoming, eco-friendly residence that is a home away from home for more than 1,000 New York City students. This 18-story residence, with one floor devoted exclusively to the New York School of Interior Design, features high-quality amenities, state-of-the-art technology, and designer interiors. The building is just steps away from excellent restaurants and shopping, as well as the famed Museum Mile, Central Park, and is two blocks from the 96th Street/Lexington Avenue subway station. With 24/7 security and a trained live-in staff, residents are secure and comfortable. Custom furnished rooms offer large windows, private bathrooms as well as refrigerators and microwaves. The state-of-the-art building features flat screen TVs that transmit more than 150 digital cable stations in each room, as well as high-speed internet service. Other amenities include a media/multipurpose room, a fully equipped 3,500-square-foot fitness center, a game room, and lounges for studying and socializing.

$300 security deposit (due at contract signing and refunded at the end of the spring semester subject to room inspection)

Housing Application Process

Download the 2018 housing application.

  • Complete the housing application and return it along with the $500 non-refundable housing deposit (applied to housing cost) to housing@nysid.edu.

  • The housing application will only be processed after the following have been received: (1) tuition deposit, (2) completed housing application, (3) $500 housing deposit (non-refundable & payable to the New York School of Interior Design).

  • Once the housing application and deposit are received, the housing contract will be emailed to you.

  • Review the housing contract carefully

  • Sign and return the contract to housing@nysid.edu as soon as possible along with your security deposit of $300.  This will reserve your space in NYSID housing.
