Rooms With a View Showhouse

NYSID students are designing a room for the upcoming Rooms With a View, a showhouse in Southport, Connecticut, which takes place November 14-16, 2014.  

The NYSID team — MFA-2 student Jessie Chen and BFA students Yaneyra Hilario, Ilir Mani, Anjana Sathikumar, and Laura Schilling — is being led by NYSID alumna and associate dean Veronica Whitlock and NYSID alumna and faculty member Margaret Mintz.

This year, Rooms With a View is celebrating its 20th year, with Thom Filicia serving as Honorary Chairman. The annual event, launched in 1994 by Albert Hadley, helps support the ministry and programs of the Southport Congregational Church. The weekend of design features 12 vignettes of interior design, including the room NYSID students designed (see rendering), a marketplace, cafe, and special events.
