Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA1)
The professional-level Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA1) is designed to provide an advanced interior design degree to students who have a baccalaureate degree in a field unrelated to design. Most of our master's programs classes are held in our award-winning Graduate Center, and no portfolio is required to apply.
Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA2)
The Post-Professional Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design (MFA2) is a two-year, terminal degree program that provides professionals in interior design, architecture, environmental design, and closely related fields with the opportunity for advanced creative and academic scholarship in interior design. This full-time program is our most conceptual and is open to those who have a professional degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
MPS in Sustainable Interior Environments
Covering the principles and best practices of sustainable design, this program provides students with marketable skills that are essential to the industry today. All classes are offered in the evenings and on weekends, and you can enroll full-time (completing the degree in one year), part-time, or study online with live classes delivered via videoconferencing.
MPS in Lighting Design
Changing technologies, new energy efficiency laws, and the demand for inspired, innovative solutions have created a strong need for specialists in interior lighting design. This is a one-year, full-time program, with all classes offered in the evenings and on weekends.
MPS in Design of Healthcare Environments
The healthcare industry is rapidly expanding to accommodate the growing needs of the aging baby boomer generation and the global population explosion. In response, NYSID has created the innovative, interdisciplinary Master of Professional Studies in Healthcare Interior Design program that provides designers an opportunity to learn from practicing healthcare designers, engineers, Capital Projects team members in healthcare institutions, and healthcare environment researchers.
MPS in Digital Practice Management
Ever evolving software tools are driving designers to use more efficient techniques to coordinate between design and construction processes. NYSID’s post‐professional Master of Professional Studies in Digital Practice Management — the first and only one in the nation — will prepare working professionals to lead digital project management for design firms. Using various software programs, students will learn how to develop best practice workflows to achieve the most efficient design, documentation and construction coordination.
