Amplify the Values of Your Company

One of the wonderful things about our industry is that it’s filled with smart business people who want to make the world a better place through design. NYSID will work with your corporation or firm to develop a partnership that reflects our shared values. We will help tell the story of your brand and values. We want to collaborate with you to ignite minds and spark positive change in the industry. We use our many avenues of communication with the interior design community—events, email newsletters, social media, our website and magazine—to celebrate the impact our industry partners are having on our students and College.

Some partnership models at different levels:

  • Name a Scholarship

Both Holland & Sherry and F. Schumacher & Co. named diversity scholarships.  See the Schumacher Scholarship for Equity and Inclusion at NYSID and the Holland & Sherry Diversity in Design Scholarship.

  • Sponsor an Award

The Shade Store helped NYSID fund and create the Rising Star Award, given to a NYSID alumni who is garnering a formidable reputation in the interior design field. They have sponsored the award since its inception in 2019. The award, intended to inspire the next generation of great designers, is presented at NYSID’s Gala, attended by a who’s who of the interior design industry.

  • Underwrite a Special Program for Students

The leaders of Kravet, Inc. established the KravetPipeline@NYSID, a program that brings highschool students from the Bronx-based Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club to NYSID for the College’s summer PreCollege program, an introduction to life as an interior designer that can be life changing for teenagers from underserved communities. Many corporate sponsors made the semester-long student abroad program in Florence possible through travel grants.

  • Sponsor a NYSID Program

Many corporate sponsors underwrote keynote addresses at NYSID’s Teaching Green symposium in sustainable design education. Other opportunities include Dialogues on Design, Public Programs, PreCollege, Study Abroad, and Exhibitions in the NYSID Gallery.

As a funder of [a NYSID diversity scholarship], we want to help develop tastemakers, but also future business owners who will create work environments that are welcoming, equitable and inclusive for others, and who will expand the number of clients whom interior design serves. This is how we can multiply our impact.
— Timur Yumusaklar, President & CEO of Schumacher
