Interior designer and NYSID alumna Barbara Ostrom has been designing rooms in top decorator showhouses since the beginning of her celebrated career. In this lecture, Ostrom, who Mario Buatta called the “Queen of the Showhouse,” will talk about her experiences and how she transformed design disasters—from dank basement spaces and sad-looking garages—into inspiring and light-filled photo-perfect rooms. The talk will be illustrated with images from her book, Curtain Up: Thirty Years of Spectacular Showhouse Rooms, recently published by Pointed Leaf Press.
Free and open to the public. There will be a reception and book signing immediately following the lecture.
