Thomas Mellins and Donald Albrecht, curators of Art + Furniture: Designers, Makers, + Advocates, on view in the NYSID Gallery through April 2, 2027, will interview Dennis Miller, author of the accompanying book, Art + Furniture: An Oral History of the American Furniture Movement, published by Abbeville Press.
An outgrowth of an oral history project at the New York School of Interior Design Archives conceived by Miller, the book chronicles the American furniture movement through the words of its protagonists, complemented by contemporary and archival photography. The evening will conclude with a book signing, and copies will be available for purchase.
