Since then, the majority of NYSID’s institutional collections as well as a number of acquired archives from interior designers and firms have been organized and rehoused according to archival standards. In 2014, Nora Reilly was hired as NYSID’s first official staff archivist.

It was a festive evening, with many graduates, design professionals, and friends gathering to view the work of more than 30 alumni showing a wide range of projects for living, working, playing, and healing. Read Moreor the first time ever, NYSID students competed for the opportunity to design a room at Holiday House.
The student winner was Cheryl Sadlowski, BFA ’16, selected by a panel of judges including designers Drew McGukin, Alexa Hampton and Thom Filicia. Cheryl was announced the winner at a celebration at Holiday House on November 16.

Over the course of four days, students visited iconic neighborhoods and architectural sites including the French Quarter and Garden District as well as other lesser known sites such as the Irish Channel, the Faubourg Marigny, and the St. Louis Cemetery.
